About ROS

ROS Rack Repair System since 2004

The ROS system was born out of necessity, Back in year 2004 IKEAโ€™s Dutch distribution centre at Oosterhout had a high incidence of forklift collision damage to their pallet racking, which meant frequent, high repair costs.

Like most customers, some of IKEAโ€™s questions and concerns were:

โ— Do we really have to replace all damaged uprights? Surely most can be repaired?ย

โ— Is there a way we can repair these uprights whilst the racks are still loaded with pallets?

โ— Can we find a way of drastically reducing our annual spend on racking repairs, whilst at the same time meeting our moral and legal health and safety obligations?

From this point IKEA asked Hans Slavenburg, a structural engineer and owner of ROS International based nearby, to help provide a solution. Hans undertook the process of investigation, design and development, which led to the invention of a hydraulic tool and repair procedure that fits a mould to the damaged post and through controlled pressure, within minutes, can restore the rack to its original form.

ROS Thailand since 2019

Although the solution was initially developed for IKEA, ROS International now offers the patented and engineering accredited system to other companies that have pallet racking damages. Through joint-ventures, the ROS Group has a presence in the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the USA. ย
